Quantitative Single-cell Biology Workshop

A free two-day intensive program designed to train researchers in the quantitative and computational aspects of single-cell biology. Master statistical methods, computational tools, and best practices for analyzing single-cell RNA-seq data.

On-campus accommodation

Participants staying on campus will be accommodated in the following hostels on a twin-sharing basis:

Getting to the venue: Both hostels are located within campus, approximately 1km from the venue. You can walk (we would strongly recommend this!), take an auto, or use the shared EV that runs on campus.

Cafe serves all-day meals from 8AM-8PM. Restaurant serves lunch and dinner on the 3rd floor.

How to reach IIT Bombay

Important notice There will be significant foot and vehicle traffic at IIT Bombay on 15th December due to the Mood Indigo cultural festival. We strongly recommend arriving on the evening of 14th December if staying on campus. Expect substantial crowds at the Main Gate (Gate 2) with at least 1,000+ people entering simultaneously. Plan accordingly with extra travel time.

From western railway stations

From Andheri

  1. Exit at Andheri station
  2. Go to Andheri East - Agarkar Chowk bus stop (adjacent to the railway station)
  3. Take buses: 496 Ltd, 545 Ltd, 396 Ltd, 392, 185, or 144 AC
  4. Request ticket to IIT Main Gate (₹15 regular / ₹25 AC)

Note: Buses are crowded during rush hours (8:00-11:00 AM and 5:30-7:00 PM). Auto rickshaws not recommended due to high fares.

From Bandra

Take a Western Line train to Andheri station, then follow the directions above.

From Borivali

  1. Go to Borivali East bus stop outside the station
  2. Take buses: 478 Ltd, 524 Ltd, NMMT 125, or NMMT 123
  3. Get down at IIT Main Gate bus stop

From Mumbai Central terminus

  1. Take Western Line suburban train (slow/fast) towards Andheri/Borivali
  2. Get down at Dadar (Western Line) station
  3. Cross to Dadar (Central Line) via foot-over bridge
  4. Take Central Line slow train towards Thane/Kalyan/Dombivali
  5. Get down at Kanjurmarg station
  6. Take auto rickshaw to IIT Bombay (₹40)

Note: You can purchase a combined ticket for both phases at the ticket counter.

From Dadar (western line)

  1. Take Central Line slow train from Platform 1 or 2 towards Thane/Kalyan/Dombivali
  2. Get down at Kanjurmarg station
  3. Take auto rickshaw to IIT Bombay (₹50)

From central railway stations

From Chhatrapati Shivaji terminus (CST)

  1. Take Central Line slow suburban train towards Thane/Kalyan/Dombivali
  2. Get down at Kanjurmarg station
  3. Take auto rickshaw to IIT Bombay (₹50)

From Dadar (central line)

  1. Take Central Line slow suburban train towards Thane/Kalyan/Dombivali
  2. Get down at Kanjurmarg station

From Lokmanya Tilak terminus (LTT)

  1. Take auto rickshaw to Kurla Railway station (₹100)
  2. Board Central Line train towards Kanjurmarg
  3. Get down at Kanjurmarg station

From domestic airport

Distance: Approximately 11 km from IIT Bombay

  • Option 1 - Direct Auto: ₹250
  • Option 2 - By Bus:
    • Bus 422 from Domestic Airport Junction directly to IIT Main Gate
    • OR Bus 182 to Gandhi Nagar (Kanjurmarg), then Bus 524 to IIT Main Gate
  • Option 3 - Uber/Ola: Available as you exit (follow marked directions)

From international airport

Distance: Approximately 8 km from IIT Bombay

  • Option 1 - Auto/Prepaid Taxi: ₹200
  • Option 2 - By Bus: Bus 409 Ltd or 382 AS
  • Option 3 - Uber/Ola: Available from P4 West (one level down from the Arrivals terminal)
